Live Nation has announced an agreement to make a majority investment in Bizzaro Peru, a leading concert promoter in the country. The investment expands Live Nation’s presence in Peru and reinforces the company’s broader push into the Latin American live entertainment market.
Bizarro has helped shape the Peruvian live music landscape, producing and promoting concerts and live events for both international touring artists and top regional talent.
“Lima, Peru, is the fifth largest city in South America and an increasingly important destination for artists touring the continent,” said Live Nation CEO and President Michael Rapino. “Partnering with Bizarro Peru allows us to strengthen what already works, support their local expertise, and bring even more great shows and live experiences to fans in Lima and across the country.”
“Our partnership with Live Nation in Peru marks an exciting new chapter for Bizarro Peru,” said Alfredo Alonso, Bizarro Peru’s Director of Entertainment. “Together with Alberto and the team in Lima, we’ll combine Live Nation’s global expertise with our deep local knowledge to elevate the live music experience for fans and artists across the country.”
The move comes about a month after Live Nation announced the acquisition of a majority stake in Santiago’s Movistar Arena in Chile, in partnership with BeLive Entertainment. Both majority investments cement Live Nation’s enthusiasm for expansion in Latin America.
“Latin America is one of the most vibrant live music regions in the world, and Chile is a critical stop for artists touring the continent,” Rapino said of the deal.
Live Nation has also been expanding into Thailand with the acquisition of Impact Arena. The company will work alongside the venue’s founding developer, Bangok Land, to upgrade Impact Arena’s infrastructure.
