Mike Watt has been releasing a series of split seven-inches with artists like Papa M and Tim Kerr, “one-for-one,” via Red Parakeet records, and he’s shared a new one. It has he and J Mascis covering ’90s songs from each other’s bands, with Watt doing Dinosaur Jr.‘s “The Little Baby,” off their 1991 EP Whatever’s Cool With Me, and Mascis taking on “Formal Introduction” off Watt’s 1996 album with his ex-wife, Black Flag’s Kira Roessler, as Dos, Justamente tres. It’s not on streaming, but you can pick it up on vinyl or get a digital copy via Bandcamp.

Watt has shows coming up with multiple projects, including Jumpstarted Plowhands (his band with Todd Congelliere and a rotating cast of drummers, currently Todd’s Toys That Kill bandmate Jimmy Felix), Mike Watt & The Secondmen (with Pete Mazich and Jerry Trebotic), and Mike Watt & The Missingmen (with Tom Watson and Raul Morales). All dates are here.

Dinosaur Jr, meanwhile, will be celebrating Everything All The Time on tour with Band of Horses this summer, and before that they play Total Bummer at Knockdown Center with JAMC, Blonde Redhead, Meat Puppets, Julie, TAGABOW and more.
