Denver hardcore/alt-rock fusionists Public Opinion have announced their sophomore LP, The Curse of Public Opinion, due out on August 7 via SideOneDummy. It follows their 2025 EP, Perpetual Motion Machine, for the label, and Vinnie Caruana of The Movielife and I Am the Avalanche features on a song. We have an exclusive “cherry bomb splash” vinyl variant, limited to 100 copies and available for pre-order in the BV shop.
“A lot of bands make music about feeling bad but they’re so dialed-in,” vocalist Kevin Hart says. “I think our message is a little more messy, but a lot more human. At the end of the day I’m kind of a quiet, angry guy. I don’t explode, I implode. So when it comes to the songs I don’t try to stop all that from coming through.” A little of that anger comes through in first single and opening track, “Balloon Man Running.” Watch the video, directed by Jarrett Barnes, before.
Public Opinion will be on tour throughout the year; they begin a run supporting Drug Church and White Reaper this week, including Brooklyn’s Warsaw on April 30. They’ve also announced new June shows with Squint. See all dates below.
