TikTok and Interscope Records have teamed up for a “global karaoke experience” across 24 cities, featuring Olivia Rodrigo’s newest single, “drop dead.” The short-form social video platform is rolling out an in-app hub where fans can explore and enter for a chance to attend karaoke events worldwide.
Starting Friday, April 17, fans can enter the Listening Party in-app, where they can chat and work together to hit streaming goals to unlock extra surprises. TikTok will spotlight fan-favorite videos alongside official content, “so your karaoke night might just turn into your big moment.” For a chance to be featured, fans should post using the hashtag #dropdeadkaraoke.
With over 24.8 million followers on TikTok, Olivia Rodrigo has cultivated a dedicated community where her music has soundtracked numerous viral fan performances and storytelling moments.
Fans speculated that the new album would drop in March, but some clues spotted in London hinted at an April release. Namely, a purple heart-shaped lock with her logo and the word “April” written on the side. Both the lock in London and the mural in LA were purple when they first emerged, but have since been painted pink.
“I won’t say too much, but I think 2026 is going to be a busy year for me,” Rodrigo told Nylon last year. “I’ve been having a lot of fun dreaming things up.”
Back in October, she said her new record would be quite a departure from her first album, Sour, and her second album, GUTS.
“I guess I’m a little older now and I feel like I have more experience,” the 23-year-old told Elle. “I think the [GUTS] tour and all the festivals were really educational for me and taught me a lot about who I am and what kind of music I want to make, and what music I want to play for people. I’m taking all those lessons into the studio with me.”
