Liam Gallagher responds to Green Day kicking fan off stage for playing “Wonderwall”

Green Day played Luxembourg on Monday and for the final song of the night, they invited a fan on stage to play “Good Riddance” on acoustic. Billie Joe Armstrong handed him the guitar, and the kid started playing its opening chords and Billie sang, then the kid stopped, seemingly confused about where to go next. Billie whispered the chord progression to him and then the kid started instead playing playing Oasis’ “Wonderwall.” When he realized what was going on, Billie groaned “Oh, fuck me,” took his guitar back and the kid was escorted off stage. Pretty funny, and you can watch that below.

It should be no surprise that this was brought to the attention of Oasis themselves, or at least the Gallagher brother with the most online presence, Liam. Replying to someone on X, Liam simply said “Best song of the night.”

Meanwhile, Liam will be singing “Wonderwall” with the rest of Oasis and the entirety of Cardiff, Wales’ Principality Stadium on Friday, July 4 at their first show in 16 years. We hope they have the time of their lives.
