Watch Olivia Rodrigo join Smashing Pumpkins on “Thirty-Three” at Lollapalooza

Olivia Rodrigo‘s series of surprise onstage collaborations with alt-rock legends continued at Lollapalooza 2026. She came out during The Smashing Pumpkins‘ headlining set on Friday (7/31), in the rain, to join them on Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness track “Thirty-Three.” It was the band’s second time playing the song since 2018 (the first was the night earlier, at their intimate Riviera show), and you can watch video below.

Olivia wasn’t the Pumpkins’ only surprise guest at Lollapalooza – they also had Yungblud join them on “Luna,” and like she did at the Riviera show, their former bassist, Melissa Auf der Maur, came out for the final song of the night, “The Everlasting Gaze.” See their full setlist below.

Olivia’s surprise Lollapalooza appearance follows her headlining set at the festival last year, where she brought out Weezer for their Blue Album songs “Buddy Holly” and “Say It Ain’t So.” She also came out during David Byrne’s Governors Ball set last year, and brought out The Cure’s Robert Smith during her Glastonbury set, also in 2025.
