Volvo has officially announced the native integration of Apple Music into more than two million of its vehicles – including Spatial Audio availability in certain models.

The Gothenburg-headquartered auto manufacturer confirmed the integration, technically set in motion closer to 2026’s start, in a brief release this morning. With the corresponding over-the-air update already live, Volvo customers will soon be able to access Apple Music directly through the in-vehicle interface.

All told, the update is rolling out across 11 Volvo models released from 2020 onward: The EX90, ES90, XC90, S90, V90, XC60, S60, V60, XC40, EX40, and EC40. And as previously disclosed, the forthcoming EX60, set to become available later this summer, will natively integrate Apple Music from the get-go.

While time will reveal the partnership’s precise commercial impact, Volvo is definitely leaning into the union – including by offering a three-month free trial (via the Volvo Cars app) to new Apple Music users and by plugging the playlist-transfer option in its formal release.

Back to the upgraded-audio support, Volvo EX60, EX90, and ES90 drivers who sprung for the optional Bowers & Wilkins sound system (a reportedly $3,200 add-on) will also be able to enjoy Apple Music in Spatial Audio.

Emphasizing as much in a statement, Volvo’s head of global software engineering, Alwin Bakkenes, touted Spatial Audio as “a truly emotional listening experience.”

“Many of our customers use Apple Music on their phones or in their homes today. By bringing Apple Music directly into our cars, we’re making them an extraordinary place to experience music,” said Bakkenes.

“You’ll feel as if you’re right in the middle of a concert hall or an arena during your favourite live performance or immersed in the latest music in Spatial Audio exactly as the artist intended – a truly emotional listening experience,” he concluded.

As many will recognize, the Volvo tie-up represents the latest in a line of recent integrations for Apple Music, which closed out 2025 by announcing a native-integration pact with GM. Last year’s final month also delivered an Apple Music-ChatGPT integration, before the Volvo agreement materialized at 2026’s beginning.

From there, March brought a TikTok integration that enabled the app’s Apple Music-subscribed users to play full songs in the short-form platform itself. Additionally, Bandsintown events started populating Apple Music artist pages that same month under a different integration yet.
