TikTok has announced that its “Add to Music App” function has been used to save more than 6 billion tracks to premium music streaming services over the last 12 months. The feature rolled out worldwide in 2024 and enables users to save songs they discover on TikTok to their music streaming service of choice.
The company also revealed the top 20 most-saved tracks globally via the “Add to Music App” feature over the past 12 months, reflecting a mix of emerging artists and global superstars.
TikTok says this milestone reinforces the company’s position as a critical driver of music consumption, with the 6 billion track saves translating to “many, many billions more streams” on DSPs including Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud, and Amazon Music. This conversion from discovery on TikTok to listening on DSPs delivers tangible impact for the music industry.
“TikTok is the starting point for music discovery on a global scale, and ‘Add to Music App’ is turning that discovery into measurable impact for the industry,” said Tracy Gardner, Global Head of Music Business Development, TikTok. “Generating over 6 billion track saves—and many multiple more in streams—in a single year shows how powerful our platform is at driving music discovery among our community, and how seamlessly we are converting intent into streaming, chart success, and revenue for artists and their partners.”
