Rico Nasty announces new LP ‘RX’ ft. Kenneth Blume & Dylan Brady, shares “Cupcake”

Rico Nasty has announced a new album, RX, due out July 24 via Sugar Trap. She re-connected with producer Kenneth Blume (fka KennyBeats) for it, having previously worked with him on her 2019 mixtape Anger Management and her 2020 track “Smack a Bitch.” “I missed someone that was honest with me” Rico says. “And I missed someone who knew me back then, before I had any success. I felt like if I’m going to get back to doing me, I should go back to someone who can be real with me, somebody who’s not too serious or draining.”

“From the day we met, no one has made me laugh harder or pushed me further out of my comfort zone,” Blume adds. “RX feels like homecoming. This project is a reminder of where she came from, what made us all fans; and a scary look at how much better she KEEPS getting.”

RX features last month’s “Rituals,” and she recorded it between her fall tour last year and filming her role in AppleTV+ series Margot’s Got Money Troubles. Dylan Brady (100 Gecs) also contributed to it, and you can see the cover art and tracklist below.

She’s shared a second new single “Cupcake,” a kaleidoscopic mixture of electro-pop and trap. Watch the video, directed by Miggy, below.

Rico supports Hayley Williams on tour this fall, including NYC shows at Forest Hills Stadium on September 16 and 17, and before those shows begin she plays Indiana’s Chreece Festival in August. See all dates below.
