So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.

RADIE PEAT (LANKUM) – “STILL I LOVE HIM”

Lamkum’s Radie Peat has released her debut solo single. “I wanted the freedom to make decisions around my voice without having to explain myself – creating emotional connection,” Peat says of the gorgeous “I Still Love Him.” “I’m trying to capture the elation and devastation that can accompany true love. Even though you suffer – because of the amount you love someone – you stay, you carry on”

INTERPOL – “IRON CITY”

Interpol have given us a third taste of their new album This Mirror Weighs a Ton with “Iron City,” which finds Paul Banks alone in Central Park.

CORNELIUS – “TWISTING & GLISTENING”

Cornelius’s new album REFRACTIONS is out August 19 and this new single is the poppiest thing he’s released in eons. “Twisting & Glistening” is a banger. He says: “Using electronic dance music from around 1985 as a starting point, I layered in jazz-influenced tension chords, carefully placing each sound with a sense of space and frequency range. It’s a track where I revisited sounds I loved as a teenager, but from where I am now. I hadn’t really tried this kind of approach before, and once I started working with it, it felt unexpectedly fresh.”

GOD OF WAR – “MICKEY DON’T POSE” & “NEW DEAL”

They Are Gutting a Body of Water’s Douglas Dulgarian and Hooky’s Scott Turner and Sam Silbert have announced a new album as God of War. molly picture is due out August 7 via Julia’s War, and they’ve shared the first two singles, “mickey don’t pose” and “new deal.”

DISGUSTING SISTERS – “SORRY MISTER”

London and Paris-based sibling duo Disgusting Sisters have announced their debut album, Skin & Blisters, which will be released October 30 on Source Records (the French label that launched Air and Phoenix). “Sorry Mister is inspired by those nights out where you constantly find yourself trying to reject unwanted attention,” the duo say of this new single that owes a little to the electroclash scene. “As a woman you’re often taught to smile, apologize, and avoid offending anyone even when you’re uncomfortable. We love the irony of ‘Sorry, Mister’ because it plays on that contrast between politeness and the raw truth, celebrating female solidarity and the freedom to stop apologising for saying no.”

GENESIS OWUSU – “HUMAN AGAIN”

Following his May album Redstar Wu & the Worldwide Scourge, Genesis Owusu has shared another new single, “Human Again.” “I wrote this song when I was thinking about apathy,” he says. “Living in the digital age of misinformation is genuinely brain-frying sometimes. So much global gaslighting, so much to cry and scream about; it’s easier to just flip the switch off and sink into base hedonism to feel human again. But it’s really important to care. You can party too. Care about the rights and freedoms that let you party. Care about all the people around the world who wanna party just like you. Keep fighting, kicking and screaming so the party doesn’t die.”

SHARP PINS – “SATURDAY SUN”

Kai Slater is back with a new ’60s-inspired Sharp Pins earworm.

MADI DIAZ – “THIS IS HOW A WOMAN LEAVES (UN-UNPLUGGED)”

Madi Diaz has announced a deluxe edition of her 2025 album Fatal Optimist, Fatal Optimist (UN-unplugged), due out September 4 via ANTI-. It includes four previously unreleased “UN-unplugged” songs, and she’s shared one of them, “This is How a Woman Leaves,” which she originally wrote for Maren Morris. “I was vacuuming my ex’s house after I had finally gotten the last of my boxes out… because I thought it would be nice to come home to an empty house if it was clean? My friend called to check in and make sure I wasn’t lingering in a house she knew meant so much to me, even still. I confessed to the vacuuming, feeling totally out of my mind. And she told me it was okay that I was vacuuming my ex’s house. Sitting there. Feeling all of it. Angry and doing the dishes in a final screw you? Hurt and folding his laundry? Taking the coffee maker (after first contemplating stealing the dog)? Leaving some things worse, but most things better than I found them? ‘That’s how a woman leaves’ was what she said. And I went home and it echoed in my mind for months, until this song finally poured out of me one day with Sarah Buxton and Maren Morris. I will always remember sitting in my living room finishing this song and hearing Maren sing it for the first time.”

THE GO – “FREE ELECTRICITY”

The Go were a shortlived Detroit band that once counted Jack White as a member and put out their debut album via Sub Pop in 1999. SQUIRREL FLOWER – “NOT ME” & “SICK TOOTH”

Ella Williams has unveiled two more early tastes of her new album as Squirrel Flower, Say a Prayer to the Gods of Getting Going. About “Not Me,” she says, “This song came to me upon waking in Silver City, NM. I literally rolled out of bed, having had a dream about somebody, grabbed my guitar and pressed record. I’d been reading Women Who Run with the Wolves, my grand handbook for life. I was reading a passage about not compromising. Not ‘taking what you can get,’ but taking all that you wish for. Not in a gluttonous way, rather refusing to deprive yourself of desires and the intuitive flow towards those desires. I’d been listening to so much Linda Ronstadt when I wrote it, and I think that really came through. I wanted to let myself really sing, and produce and arrange the song in a way that allowed that.”

ASHER WHITE – “THE EAGLE IS NO OMEN”

Asher White has announced new album Love Aggregates which will be out August 28 via Joyful Noise. “A comprehensive self-inventory that earnestly attempts to thread together: my relationship to substance, gender dysphoria, eating disorder, my grandfather’s recent passing, heartbreak, moral scrupulosity and the successful rehabilitation campaign of the American bald eagle, which was declared no longer endangered in 2007,” is how White describes this first single.

CITIZEN – “I CAN SEE YOU FROM HERE”

The propulsive “I Can See You From Here” is the latest taste of Citizen’s sixth album, Halcyon Blues.

MARCI – “99 DIMENSIONAL”

LAUGHTER – “SLIME”

London band Laughter have announced a new EP, Slime, due out on August 28 via Venn Reocrds. You’re not sure if something’s happened, or you’ve dreamt it.”
