Boston punks Haywire are one of the fastest rising hardcore bands of recent times, and now they’ve announced their second full-length album, I Don’t Wanna Say Goodbye, due October 2 via their new label home, Roadrunner Records. Citizen‘s Mat Kerekes produced the album. Taylor Young mixed it at The Pit. The album was recorded over three months in Leeds, UK and Toledo, OH, and features appearances from members of Nothing and The Aggrolites, along with other friends of the band.

We’ve teamed up with the band for a BrooklynVegan-exclusive vinyl variant of I Don’t Wanna Say Goodbye, limited to just 300 copies. Pre-order now in the BV Shop.

The first single from I Don’t Wanna Say Goodbye is “Interstate Love Affair,” which comes with a Luis Hernandez-directed video. Watch it below.

It follows Haywire’s 2024 great releases, the Conditioned for Demolition LP and For Better or for Worse EP, and 2025 splits with No Guard and Dropkick Murphys ( “Citizen I.C.E.” included).

Constantly on the road (and in our feeds), last year Haywire completed a goal of playing all 50 states, and played an amazing tour with Drain, No Pressure and Secret World. They’re taking a short unexpected break though. They announced this morning that their Australia tour this week is postponed till later in the year, but they’ll be touring again in the US in September, including a Milwaukee show supporting Turnstile, a run opening for Circle Jerks, and appearances at Louder Than Life, Riot Fest, Four Chord Music Festival and CBGB Fest. October brings Aftershock, Furnace Fest, a free University of Connecticut show and Sick New World, followed by Pressure Point Fest and Warped Tour in November.

Haywire revealed that they’d signed to Roadrunner just ahead of this past weekend’s Sound & Fury fest, then celebrated their new record deal by throwing $5,000 in cash into the crowd during their set on Sunday. Watch footage below.

Sunday at Sound & Fury also included a surprise split set from Twitching Tongues and God’s Hate, both bands of brothers Colin and Taylor Young (the same Taylor who worked on the new Haywire album) (and the new Terror record and a million other records). A day after the surprise appearance, God’s Hate revealed that they were ending their hiatus with a new three-song Won’t Be Disgraced EP.

Mat Kerekes’ band Citizen, meanwhile, just released the great new album Halcyon Blues, and we’ve also got a BrooklynVegan-exclusive “Ether” vinyl variant limited to 400 copies.

Again, I Don’t Wanna Say Goodbye is out October 2 via Roadrunner, and the BrooklynVegan-exclusive vinyl is limited to 300 copies. Here’s the cover art:
