Ticket prices have dropped for Jay-Z’s three-night stand at Yankee Stadium, now approximately $100 to $200 cheaper with seats available across all dates.

Jay-Z is celebrating the 25th and 30th anniversaries of two of his iconic albums, The Blueprint and his debut Reasonable Doubt, having announced three July dates at Yankee Stadium for the occasion. But tickets remain widely available across all three dates, and now prices have dropped by approximately $100 to $200 from what they were in April. Tickets that were no cheaper than $310 when they were first announced are now going for $183 on SeatGeek.

The Yankee Stadium shows will be Hov’s first performances in NYC since his appearance at Webster Hall in 2019 to help the venue reopen after a major renovation. More recently, the mogul headlined Philadelphia’s Roots Picnic Festival where he played an impressive 32-song set. That show included fan favorites like “Run This Town,” “Empire State of Mind,” “Excuse Me Miss,” and “Public Service Announcement,” as well as an a cappella freestyle that featured digs at Kanye, Drake, Nicki Minaj, Tory Lanez, and many more.

It’s been a big month for New York City, which just won and celebrated a historic NBA Championship and hosted the wedding of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce at Madison Square Garden, as well as its annual Fourth of July celebrations. Now, hip-hop titan Jay-Z will return to his hometown for three shows intended to be a massive celebration of his legacy.

But perhaps it’s because of all the major events kicking off in NYC that folks haven’t been turning out for the Roc Nation founder. Indeed, lots of New Yorkers and longtime Jay-Z fans say the shows are more than just concerts, but pivotal cultural moments.

“Jay-Z means a lot to a lot of people in the city, as far as his career trajectory,” said one Brooklyn native. “A lot of New Yorkers can see themselves in him just because [of] how he grew up, where he’s from, and his story. Many people admire him and the music, and they feel a sense of pride.”

So, back to those tickets that haven’t been selling. Perhaps it’s his other engagements that will draw the biggest crowds. Jay-Z will also bring his concert series to Los Angeles in October and Paris in September.

He also added a London date to the lineup, scheduled for September 4—his wife Beyonce’s birthday. That show, which will take place at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, already has fans speculating that Queen Bey herself might make an appearance.

And if that’s the case, it makes sense that fans might save their money so they can hit what might be perceived as the “biggest” date on the tour.
