Stockholm-based entertainment and music investment powerhouse Pophouse Entertainment has officially acquired a 50% stake in the publishing and master recording rights of Australian singer-songwriter Sia, per details shared this morning. It’s a big deal, though this time, critical financial details have emerged.

Valued at a lofty $180 million, the landmark partnership is the latest strategic move to steward Sia’s influential body of work while developing expansive new creative ventures, including a potentially dazzling immersive digital avatar production.

Closing the deal is Stockholm-based investment firm Pophouse Entertainment, which has acquired a 50% stake in the publishing and master recording rights of Australian singer-songwriter Sia for $180 million. Unlike other recent Pophouse acquisitions, this agreement does not include her name, image, and likeness (NIL) rights.

“I’m really excited to be working with Pophouse,” Sia shared.  “These songs mean so much to me, and I love that they really understand that and want to take care of them. I’ve been making music for a very long time now, and it feels exciting to think about all the new and different ways these songs might get to live on and find people. I’m really looking forward to seeing what we can dream up together.”

So how did the $180 million transaction value come to light?

According to legal filings emerging from Sia’s recent divorce, first tipped by TMZ and confirmed by separate sources, the singer will receive $165 million for the catalog of songs written prior to the marriage. Ex-beau Dan Bernad agreed to waive all rights to this portion in exchange for a $1 million payment, according to the post-nub terms.

The remaining $15 million, representing music created during their marriage of less than three years, is being held in escrow pending a final settlement between the two parties. Separately, Sia pays $42,500 per month in child support.

Given the presence of Pophouse, the Sia deal also promises the possibility of a highly-immersive digital avatar live concert concept. That could include a complex multi-city touring aspect, though cost structures could favor a few fixed locations.

Back to the core catalog, and Sia’s got some very impressive metrics. That includes streamings in the multi-billions on Spotify along for tracks like “Titanium,” her collaboration with David Guetta, and other smashes like “Unstoppable,” “Chandelier,” “Cheap Thrills,” and “Dusk Till Dawn”.

Over her career, she has received nine Grammy nominations. But one question is whether it makes sense for Sia to cash out so soon.

Indeed, an artist like Sia is arguably still in her prime and could suffer from the lack of catalog control that comes with deals of this size. That said, the presence of a savvy, strategic partner like Pophouse introduces some interesting new possibilities.

The acquisition was executed through Pophouse Fund I.

The firm’s debut fund closed in March 2025 at a €1 billion hard cap, reaching a total of over €1.2 billion with additional secured co-investment vehicles. Co-founded by ABBA’s Björn Ulvaeus, Pophouse has a track record of developing digital artist experiences; the firm was a founding investor in the 2022 ABBA Voyage virtual residency in London.

This marks Pophouse’s third major catalog investment of 2026, following the acquisitions of publishing, master, and NIL rights for both Iron Maiden and Tina Turner. In 2024, the company also acquired the rights to KISS to develop a Las Vegas avatar show.

Regarding the acquisition, Pophouse executives Jessica Koravos and Shahriar Shokofan stated the partnership aims to develop new creative ventures and introduce the catalog to new global audiences.
