Colter Wall announces new album ‘Memories and Empties,’ shares “1800 Miles”

Country singer Colter Wall has announced a new album, Memories and Empties, due November 14 via La Honda/RCA (pre-order). The first single is “1800 Miles,” which is a fine example of Colter’s ability to tap into the vintage country music of at least a half a century ago. As he says, the song is Colter “poking a little fun at [himself], as well as at Nashville and the country music industry and culture.” He continues:

What I do is pretty meat and potatoes, and no-frills. We don’t have a big light show, and there’s not much in my songs as far as hooks. It’s simple, really, but it’s honest to who I am and I take pride in that. I’ll always feel that my music is a representation of where I’m from as much as anything. It’s a huge part of who I am, and I’m glad the culture of the ‘music industry world’ has no place in my life or my music.

Memories and Empties was produced by Colter and Pat Lyons, engineered and mixed by Phillip Smith, and made with Colter’s touring band, The Scary Prairie Boys. Check out the new song, album art, tracklist, and a list of Colter’s upcoming tour dates below.
