Casual Tailors did not emerge from a calculated plan or a desire to chase relevance. The band was born in Madrid between 2016 and 2017, at a time when rock music seemed to be slowly retreating from the mainstream conversation. Rather than mourning that decline, a group of friends decided to respond in the most honest way possible: by creating their own sound, on their own terms.
Their true creative home, however, was not the capital itself, but Moralzarzal, a small town tucked into the mountains outside Madrid. There, surrounded by open skies and a quieter rhythm of life, Casual Tailors began writing, rehearsing, and recording their first songs. It was in that environment that the band learned to value freedom over formulas, authenticity over polish, and connection over performance. From the beginning, their ambition was clear. They wanted music rooted in rock, yet open to the world around them and unafraid of evolution.
Madrid gave Casual Tailors its pulse. Moralzarzal gave them their breath. The contrast between urban energy and mountain calm became a defining element of their mindset and, ultimately, their sound. The band exists comfortably between these two worlds, drawing intensity from the city and reflection from the quiet spaces beyond it.
Their creative sessions rarely resemble traditional rehearsals. More often, they unfold around a pool, a barbecue, and long conversations fueled by music, friendship, and time. In Spain, the weather invites that openness, and Casual Tailors have embraced it fully. This relaxed environment is not a distraction from their craft, but an essential part of it. It is where ideas loosen up, walls come down, and songs begin to feel alive before a single note is perfected.
Every band has a place where everything truly begins. For Casual Tailors, it was a small rehearsal room in Moralzarzal affectionately known as the zulo. It was far from glamorous. A few amplifiers, a borrowed drum kit, and the raw enthusiasm of musicians who believed deeply in what they were doing.
It was there, during one of those early rehearsals, that the band played a rough version of what would later become The First to Go. The sound was imperfect, unrefined, and undeniably powerful. In that moment, something clicked. They looked at one another and understood that this was not simply about playing music. It was about building something that belonged to them, something honest and shared. That feeling of certainty has stayed with them ever since.

The name Casual Tailors is more than a clever phrase. It is a reflection of how the band approaches music. Like tailors, they craft their songs carefully, paying attention to detail, structure, and fit. Yet they do so with a relaxed mindset, never rigid, never closed off to change.
There is also a deeply personal layer embedded in the name. Each part connects to the identities of the members themselves, turning the band name into a subtle map of their shared history. It captures precision and ease, intention and instinct. It is, in many ways, the most accurate description of who they are.
Casual Tailors resist being boxed into genres. Instead of labels, they focus on feeling. Their music is energetic, emotional, and unfiltered. Powerful guitar riffs sit beside melodic lines, while driving rhythms support lyrics that feel confessional rather than performative.
Each song is treated as a narrative. Sometimes rebellious, sometimes introspective, but always sincere. They aim to balance familiarity and surprise, drawing listeners in with the recognizable language of rock while offering modern textures and unexpected turns. The result is music that feels both grounded and forward looking.
When someone hears Casual Tailors for the first time, the band hopes they feel freedom above all else. A sense of connection. A reminder of why music matters. Their sound bridges classic rock foundations with contemporary influences, creating something that feels timeless without being nostalgic.
This balance is intentional. They want listeners to recognize the spirit of rock while discovering something new within it. That spark, the moment when sound becomes emotion, is what drives them.
Casual Tailors self produce their music, and that autonomy shapes every part of their creative process. Most songs begin with a single idea: a riff, a lyric, a melody brought into their studio by one member. From there, everything becomes collaborative.
They jam, experiment, dismantle, rebuild, and listen. There is no strict hierarchy, only honest feedback and shared intuition. And when inspiration stalls, they trust the environment they have built. Sometimes all it takes is stepping outside, lighting the barbecue, and letting conversation do what pressure cannot.
While bands like Foo Fighters, The Police, and Biffy Clyro have influenced their musical instincts, Casual Tailors draw inspiration from far beyond records. Films such as Into the Wild and Almost Famous resonate deeply with their sense of freedom and authenticity. Literature like On the Road and The Catcher in the Rye reflects their ongoing search for meaning, rebellion, and identity.
Places also play a crucial role. The stillness of Moralzarzal, the chaos of Madrid, the long stretches of road between destinations. All of it feeds into their sound. Casual Tailors are shaped as much by lived experience as by music itself.
What makes Casual Tailors unmistakable is their emotional intensity. Their songs hit hard, but never without purpose. Guitar riffs carry melody as much as force. Lyrics feel like open pages from a personal journal. There is unpredictability in their sound, moving between pop punk, hard rock, and melodic experimentation, yet always remaining recognizably theirs.
They have one uncompromising rule. Nothing is released unless it moves them first. If a song does not give them chills in the studio, it is not finished. That instinct has become their compass.
Releasing their first EP, The First to Go, in 2018 marked an important step. It was raw, DIY, and exploratory. With limited gear and no expectations, they captured what came naturally. It helped them understand where they were and where they wanted to go.
With Deep Roots, the band began shaping a clearer identity. They learned to separate themselves from the process of self production and to focus on the collective sound rather than individual performances. That shift fully materialized in their second album, Take 2.
Then, in 2021, everything changed. The band lost their drummer Álvaro, a childhood friend and a central presence on Take 2. His passing was devastating. Music suddenly felt fragile. Stepping into the studio became difficult. Yet grief also brought clarity. It reminded them why they create at all.
The song We’ll Always Miss You became both a tribute and a turning point. Through it, their music grew more honest, more emotional, more united. When Diego, their original drummer and longtime friend, returned, the band found its sense of family again. Every release since has carried that history within it.
From their earliest recordings to tracks like Deep Roots, Give Me All, and If You Don’t Remember, Casual Tailors have allowed their sound to evolve naturally. They blend hard rock with pop melodies, pop punk energy with complex structures, refusing to limit themselves.
At this stage, style is secondary. What matters is identity. If it sounds like Casual Tailors, it belongs.

Few experiences match the recording of We’ll Always Miss You. The session was quiet, heavy, and deeply emotional. Every take felt like a conversation with Álvaro. When the final chorus was recorded, silence filled the room. No one spoke. The moment needed no explanation.
It reaffirmed their belief that music exists to feel, to remember, and to connect.
Casual Tailors are often mistaken for just another loud rock band. While they embrace energy and riffs, their music is built on storytelling and emotional depth. Each song is crafted carefully, with intention and heart. They are not chasing trends. They are shaping something personal.
A second listen usually reveals what lies beneath the surface.
The band members have known one another since school. Friendship came first. Music followed. Their dynamic is built on trust, humor, and shared ambition. They support one another through challenges and never let external pressures fracture what they have built together.
That closeness is their foundation.
When not playing or recording, Casual Tailors return to simplicity. Time in nature. Long conversations. Shared meals. Quiet moments in the mountains. Inspiration comes from stories, films, books, and everyday encounters. Music never truly leaves them, even in silence.
Before performing or recording, they always reconnect. A joke, a story, a quiet word. Each member has their own habits, but the shared ritual remains the same. Coffee, conversation, and later, beers. It is in those moments that the band becomes whole again.
If their music had a color, it would be deep crimson. Bold and emotional. The texture would be worn leather, marked by time and experience. The flavor would be smoky bourbon with a hint of citrus. Intense, rebellious, and warm enough to linger.
Beyond sound, Casual Tailors hope their music gives listeners strength and hope. Their themes return often to freedom, memory, injustice, and the importance of roots. While their songs begin as personal expressions, they inevitably reflect broader social and cultural realities.
They are not preaching. They are reflecting.
Their legacy, as they imagine it, is truth wrapped in energy. Music that feels alive. Honest. Unfiltered. Songs that make listeners feel as though they know the people behind them.
Casual Tailors continue to write and record relentlessly. Recent singles like Reckless, The Corner Bar, and If You Don’t Remember point toward a future full of energy and emotional depth. They are currently working on new tracks, including a bold reinterpretation of a Spandau Ballet song, adapted entirely to their own style.
Dream collaborations range from Dave Grohl and Sting to The Pretty Reckless, Teddy Swims, Rosalía, Against the Current, LEAP, MEMI, and The Warning. They are equally drawn to unexpected partnerships with visual artists, filmmakers, or even live sessions in the mountains of Moralzarzal, with the sky as their ceiling.
Success, for Casual Tailors, is not measured in numbers. It is measured in pride, connection, and growth.
What keeps them Young N’ Loud is simple. The need to feel alive. A new riff. A lyric that hits harder than expected. Laughter before plugging in. As long as they have something to say and someone to say it with, the fire remains.
