A teen girl who was found dead in a Tesla registered to singer D4vd in Los Angeles was identified as a 15-year-old who was missing for nearly a year.

The decomposing body found in the trunk of a Tesla registered to singer D4vd two days after it had been towed from a Los Angeles street has been identified, according to officials. On Wednesday, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner identified the victim as 15-year-old Celeste Rivas from Lake Elsinore in Riverside County, who was reported missing last year.

The circumstances of her death and how she ended up in the car are unclear and are still being investigated. The Los Angeles Police Department’s Robbery-Homicide Division is leading the investigation. No arrests have been made.

On September 8, police responded to a call at an impound lot in Hollywood for “a foul odor coming from a vehicle,” according to Los Angeles police. Authorities located a body in a state of decomposition in the front trunk of the Tesla.

Celeste Rivas was about 5’1” with wavy black hair and was wearing a tube top, black leggings, a yellow metal bracelet, and metal stud earrings, according to the medical examiner. She had a tattoo on her right index finger that said, “Shhh…”

The vehicle is registered to 20-year-old David Anthony Burke, better known as singer D4vd. It is one of several vehicles he owns, with many different people using any of the vehicles at any given time, according to a senior LAPD source.

Notably, D4vd has the same “Shhh…” tattoo on his right index finger—but the design was popularized by superstar Rihanna in 2009. While it’s an interesting coincidence, it doesn’t indicate a connection between the singer and the victim aside from the vehicle being registered in his name.

D4vd was also not in town when the body was located; he was on tour for his ongoing Withered World Tour, which is scheduled to bring him to Los Angeles on Saturday. However, his Wednesday show in Seattle was cancelled.

According to his representatives, D4vd is cooperating with authorities during the investigation. Screenshots have begun circulating online, especially Twitter, showcasing D4vd’s long-term relationship with the missing girl. At one point in 2024, D4vd allegedly told his Discord chat, “I’m in a song crisis right now.” To which someone replied, “drop the one with the missing girl celeste rivas hernandez.” Notably the date on the timestamp is August 16, 2024 and shows no indication of being edited.
