Rapper Beanie Sigel famously retired from hip-hop after a shooting in 2014 severely damaged his vocal cords. But thanks to the help of artificial intelligence, fans are excited to learn the rapper is rediscovering his voice. He appears for a verse on Porsche Truck Ruk’s new single, “Can’t Leave Streets Alone.”
Porsche Truck Ruk shared a clip from the music video on Instagram, and fans have been showering Beanie with love in response.
“I haven’t heard real-time music from ‘em in a while,” one user wrote. “Last time I heard, he had a more smoother, raspy voice; this sound like ole Beans right here.”
“Hearing Beans’ original voice is a blessing,” wrote another. “It brings that old Philly vibe we been missing.”
“I think I found a good friend with this AI thing, yeah. A lot of people frown on AI, but I think that’s gonna work for me,” he said at the time. “It’s definitely for me. Y’all want, what they say, the ‘old Beans’ back? ‘Cause the pen’s still there.”
Beanie has been slowly getting back into releasing music since 2019. He contributed a feature in 2022 on Conway The Machine’s track, “Lock Load,” from the album, God Don’t Make Mistakes.
He and Jadakiss also announced back in August that they were developing a collaborative album. The project, which is said to be titled Kiss the Mack, will reportedly be executive produced by Freeway.
“We letting it out the bag. It’s coming, it’s coming,” said Jadakiss on social media at the time. “We’ll see you real soon. We about to fuck the world up.”
