So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.
THE ALCHEMIST – “LORD PROTECT ME” (ft. ROC MARCIANO)
Roc Marciano just released his excellent self-produced album 656 last week, and now he appears on a new single by The Alchemist, who he has two full albums with. It’s off Alchemist’s collaborative album with Budgie, The Good Book 3, which is expected this Friday (1/30).

IT HAPPENED ONE NIGHT – “OPINION ENDER”
It Happened One Night is a new band with “collaborators and members” of The Armed, Heavenly Blue, and Abuse Repression, and their debut EP The First Five Songs comes out February 13 via Larry Records. The first single is a ferocious, under-two-minute screamo song called “Opinion Ender.”

MARIA TAYLOR – “STORY’S END”
Maria Taylor of Azure Ray has signed to Conor Oberst’s Million Stars label and announced Story’s End, her first solo album in 7 years, due out April 3. The first single is the title track, a stirring ballad. “For years, I would play this chord progression and melody; knowing it would be one of my favorite songs, but it took me 5 years to complete the lyrics,” she says. “I had no sense of urgency… it was like I knew, somehow, the story was still unfolding and I just had to be patient.”

BORY – “LIVING PROOF”
“This song is about a couple of really strong and resilient people in my life who were really going through it,” Toronto power-pop artist Bory says of his new song. “It made me grapple with the side of me that immediately wants to be like ‘Why am I complaining? My problems are insignificant compared to them,’ and instead just try to appreciate and be inspired by them, rather than find yet another way to put myself down.” Bory’s new album Never Turns to Night is out March 6 via Bleak Enterprise.

GUV – “BLUE JADE”
Former Fucked Up guitarist Ben Cook will release his new album as GUV this Friday and here’s one more hazy, dreamy pop nugget to hold you till the whole thing is out.

KING TUFF – “TWISTED ON A TRAIN”
It’s the first single off King Tuff’s upcoming album MOO.
