Alabama Shakes played Forest Hills Stadium (pics, video, setlist)
Alabma Shakes are on their first tour in 8 years, which stopped in NYC on Wednesday night (9/17) for a show at Forest Hills Stadium. It had rained earlier in the day and the forecast threatened more, but ultimately the skies remained dry for the show, which Brittany Howard told the crowd might be her favorite ever. The setlist included most of Sound & Color, a few songs off Boys & Girls, their recent single “Another Life” (the first song they’ve released in over a decade), and another new track they’ve been playing live on this run but haven’t officially released yet, “American Dream.”
Before beginning the last song of the night, Howard told the crowd that she didn’t want to talk about the current state of the world, but that she wished us well, and hoped that we’d get the jobs that we wanted, with all the benefits; that we’d get to live where we wanted to live; and that our pets would live for 35 years.
