Like Taylor Swift before them, K-pop megastar group BTS has partnered with Target for a release of several exclusive merchandise items to capitalize on the highly anticipated release of their new album, ARIRANG. These include the group’s signature light stick, clothing, a canvas bag, vinyl featuring unique variant art, CDs with collectible photocards, and more.
The Target-exclusive version album cover features a splatter-paint 12-inch disc and a 20-page photo book, turntable slipmat, lyric paper, poster, postcard, photocard set, and photocard holder. There’s a vinyl variant for each of the seven members of BTS—Jimin, Jin, j-hope, Jungkook, RM, Suga, and V—so those with a favorite member can rep their bias.
There’s also an exclusive album-themed canvas tote bag in black and white, measuring approximately 10×10 inches. The hoodie features an oversized print of the album logo in a slightly baggy fit, and fans getting ready to see the boys on tour can pick up the official group light stick.
The group’s latest era starts with a live performance from Seoul on Saturday, before BTS heads to NYC for a fan-exclusive event in partnership with Spotify. They also have back-to-back appearances scheduled on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” at the end of the month. Finally, the new BTS world tour kicks off in Goyang, South Korea, on April 9.
Unfortunately, RM recently suffered an ankle injury during rehearsals ahead of the group’s comeback concert. BigHit Music, BTS’ label, shared on social platform Weverse that RM’s moves on stage would be “partially limited” due to the injury. According to the statement, RM was taken to the hospital where it was confirmed his ankle was sprained, in addition to a ligament tear and a “talus contusion,” which includes ligament damage and inflammation.
“As advised by medical professionals, he must wear a cast and strictly limit movement for a minimum of two weeks to concentrate solely on recovery,” the statement read. “While RM expressed a firm commitment to deliver a high-quality performance, […] [he] has made the decision to prioritize the medical opinion to preemptively prevent and further strain on his injury. Accordingly, RM’s on-stage performance, including choreography, will be partially limited.”
BTS’ upcoming world tour will feature 79 performances across 34 markets and span nearly a year. More dates will be announced in the coming weeks.
