Watch Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine) rally against ICE in NYC ++ pics
Tom Morello is playing with Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band on their current tour, which is in NYC now for a few shows. Between dates, he also spoke and performed at the End ICE Abuse rally at 26 Federal Plaza, the location of NYC’s ICE field office and federal immigration court, on Tuesday afternoon (5/12). He did an acoustic version of “This Land is Your Land,” and called for people to “take our power back and adjourn this motherfucking authoritarian clown show once and for all.”
Other speakers included Hands Off NYC co-founder Hae-Lin Choi; New York Immigration Coalition president and CEO Murad Awawdeh; New York Working Families Party state director Jasmine Gripper; Allan Dabrio Marrero, a New Yorker who spent five months in detention at 5 different ICE failities; co-executive director of Made the Road New York Natalia Aristizabal; co-founder and director Rob Solano and Maria Member, both of Churches United for Fair Housing; and director of the Evergreen Initiative at The Action Lab Jesus Gonzalez.
