Wu-Tang Reunion Tour Goes Sour in Australia, Fans Refunded

Fans in Australia have been offered refunds after multiple members of the Wu-Tang Clan were revealed not to appear at the Australian leg of the tour.

Not all members of the legendary Wu-Tang Clan were slated to appear on the Australian leg of the group’s tour, which has been billed as their full-lineup farewell run. As a result, refunds have been offered to fans who no longer wish to attend the remaining shows.

Despite being billed as a full-lineup affair, fans on social media following a show at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre said Method Man, Raekwon, Cappadonna, and Young Dirty Bastard were all absent. That left just six members of the hip-hop collective—RZA, GZA, Ghostface Killah, Masta Killa, Inspectah Deck, and U-God—to perform.

When the tour was announced in October last year, fans were excited that the run was billed as featuring “all members,” and that it would be their “final” performances in Australia. But in the days leading up to the shows, the group posted on social media that Method Man would not be joining them on the run.

However, no announcement was made ahead of time regarding the other absent members—though ticketing platform Ticketek said that “a couple of members” would be unable to join the remaining dates. Now, fans who no longer wish to attend have the option to claim a refund, according to Ticketek.

“We want to make fans aware that due to unforeseen circumstances, a couple of members will be unable to join the remaining tour dates in Melbourne and Sydney,” the platform’s statement read. “Wu-Tang Clan will be performing and bringing everything that has made them one of the most iconic live acts in hip-hop history.”

Wu-Tang Clan last toured Australia in May 2023 alongside Nas on the NY State of Mind tour. Their current tour, The Final Chamber, kicked off in February in the U.S., with that leg wrapping up in Philadelphia in July. The tour heads to Japan in May and then kicks off a second U.S. leg later this year.
