According to pre-event details shared with Digital Music News, the concert will feature the world debut of Laufey’s lyrical interpretation of Davis’ classic “Blue In Green,” alongside the unveiling of a new electric vehicle created in partnership with Lexus. That’s right, the AWAL/Sony-inked Laufey is now designing customized cars in addition to creating Grammy-winning albums.
“Miles Davis understood the roots of jazz—and then reinvented it,” Laufey relayed. “That spirit of honoring the past while moving it forward is what makes this tribute so meaningful.”
For Lexus, the event looks like a broader image-shaping campaign aimed at the cool, musically sophisticated crowd. That’s a perfect match for Laufey, whose career ascent now includes a monster branding deal. “Our collaboration with Laufey is about celebrating jazz, inspiring creativity, and giving fans an unforgettable experience,” wrote Sara Lara, Senior Manager of Lexus marketing. “We’re blending heritage, artistry, and innovation, much like jazz itself.”
Sounds like a high-brow event, though the swankiness will be televised and uploaded, thanks to serious involvement from Amazon properties Amazon Music and Twitch.
In tribute to what would have been Davis’ 100th birthday in 2026, Lexus has tapped Laufey to develop her own take on Davis’ iconic composition as an Amazon Music Original track. Available exclusively on Amazon Music beginning March 27, Laufey adds original lyrics and her unmistakable voice to the song while honoring the restraint and timeless beauty of Davis’ original.
And it looks like Lexus is blowing this one out. According to the invite, Lexus is unveiling a one-of-one ‘Blue In Green’ Edition RZ—a custom electric vehicle inspired by Davis’ music and Laufey’s aesthetic.
