The Grammy Museum prepares to open a limited-run exhibition dedicated to Selena Quintanilla, launching on January 15, and curated in collaboration with her sister.

The Grammy Museum will launch a limited-run exhibition dedicated to the legendary Selena Quintanilla, best known simply as Selena. The museum describes the pop-up as the first official display of the late singer’s personal items outside of the official Selena Museum in Corpus Christi, Texas. “Selena: From Texas to the World” launches on January 15.

According to the Grammy Museum, the exhibition was curated in collaboration with Selena’s sister, Suzette Quintanilla, President of Q Productions. The exhibit is designed to provide an intimate look at Selena’s life and career, highlighting the global influence of the artist whose music, style, and cultural impact continue to resonate years after her death.

Items on display will include the outfit featured on the Amor Prohibido album cover, her white beaded Lillie Rubin gown worn to the 1994 Grammy Awards, her Grammy Award and Lifetime Achievement Award, instruments played by her family, her microphone still marked with Selena’s signature red lipstick, hand-drawn fashion sketches, and her personal cell phone.

The museum’s exterior will feature a new mural, painted on-site from December 3 through December 8. The piece was created by Mister Toledo, a Mexican-American muralist connected to the museum through the Long Beach nonprofit Creative Class Collective. Nearly 18 feet wide and 10 feet tall, the mural draws from family-provided imagery and references pivotal moments in Selena’s career.

The installation intends to highlight Selena’s lasting cultural impact—not just as the Queen of Tejano Music, but as a fashion innovator and defining figure in Mexican-American representation. Selena remains a cross-generational icon through her music, stage presence, and style, and the museum’s exhibit promises to provide a comprehensive celebration of that legacy.

Pre-sale general admission tickets are available now through January 15 and remain valid for the duration of the pop-up. No special tickets are required for entry.
