As the world’s most well-known Irish whiskey label, Jameson has global appeal, and they’re bringing global artists together for the return of Jameson Distilled Sounds. Grammy winner Anderson .Paak will host artists from around the world under one roof, including talent from India, South Africa, Portugal, Nigeria, and Indonesia, to write, record, and perform new music.
This marks the second year of Jameson’s Distilled Sounds, with .Paak returning as the whiskey label’s “music distiller.” “This really is an opportunity for like-minded artists to come together, connect and learn from one another,” said Anderson .Paak. “You’ve got drill next to Amapiano, K-pop crossing over with soul, everyone bringing their own flavour, and we just build and collaborate.”
The series will see over 20 global artists come together in Ireland for collaboration under .Paak’s musical direction. Last year’s Distilled Sounds brought artists to Cork, home of Jameson’s Midleton Distillery, to write, record, and perform five original songs, with this year’s series set to take place in Dublin.
Jameson released a short film starring Anderson .Paak as a record store owner who guides a customer through the different artists of Jameson Distilled Sounds. You can check out the spot below.
Some of the artists teaming up for the series include up-and-coming artists like South African soul singer Lloyiso, Malaysian alt-pop artist Saint Kylo, and Indian vocalist Mary Ann Alexander.
Anderson .Paak has long had a collaborative streak, from lending vocals to Dr. Dre’s Compton to artists and producers like Schoolboy Q and Kaytranada on his breakthrough album Malibu, to his Silk Sonic project alongside Bruno Mars.
The artists in Jameson Distilled Sounds will collaborate on original music inspired by their roots, with music dropping throughout the summer.
