Music creation platform Splice has announced an AI deal with ElevenLabs, integrating ElevenLabs’ music models into its ecosystem and music production workflows. Splice CEO Kakul Srivastava emphasized that the partnership focuses on a “second wave of AI” where the human creator comes first, ensuring that any AI products developed will responsibly compensate the original sample creators with every use.
“In this second wave of AI in music, the creator comes first,” said Srivastava. “We’re building responsible products from the ground up, and our partnership with ElevenLabs gives us access to powerful models to help shape what those experiences can be.”
“Our models deliver studio-grade audio ready for commercial use,” said Mati Staniszewski, co-founder of ElevenLabs. “By embedding them into Splice’s workflow, we’ll bring these capabilities directly to the artists and creators shaping the future of music.”
Splice is a leading music creation platform with an extensive library of royalty-free samples, sounds, and presets. Last month, the company also launched a suite of AI tools that compensate original sample creators with each use, further solidifying its commitment to developing and providing creator-first, “responsible” AI tools.
News of the latest deal follows recent AI expansions for both companies, including Splice’s launch of generative customization tools (Variations, Craft, and the upcoming Magic Fit), its acquisition of Kits AI, and ElevenLabs’ ongoing music licensing partnerships with entities like Kobalt and Merlin. Splice also announced a partnership with Universal Music Group in December to build “commercial AI tools” for the creator community.
