Post Malone and Jelly Roll have cancelled several upcoming dates on their Big Ass Stadium Tour Part 2, moving the start of the tour back a few weeks to June 9. Originally, the run was scheduled to kick off on May 13 at El Paso’s Sun Bowl Stadium. Now, the first few weeks of the tour—including stops in Waco, Baton Rouge, Birmingham, Tampa, and Oxford—have been scrapped.
The six cancelled dates equate to about a third of the North American run. Undoubtedly, the move is the result of slow ticket sales at nearly all venues, but Malone didn’t cop to that; instead, he told fans on social media that recording a new album was to blame.
Indeed, Malone previously teased a 40-track album, The Eternal Buzz, late last year, and said he’d already made “probably 35 songs” for it. So far, details are sparse, and he hasn’t announced a release date.
Meanwhile, slow ticket sales could be due to both artists being relatively small to draw a stadium audience. That’s especially true since Post Malone is still pretty new to country music, and neither artist has released a new album since 2024.
Sales could also be affected by Jelly Roll’s recent controversies, including multiple instances of him uttering the n-word—something that fellow country star Morgan Wallen saw negative press for doing a few years back. (Though that hasn’t impacted the country mega-star’s bounce back one bit in the last five years.)
