Bodycam footage from Morgan Wallen’s infamous chair-throwing incident in Nashville has been released, showing Wallen calling bar owner Eric Church.

It’s no secret what happened with Morgan Wallen’s now-infamous chair-throwing incident at Eric Church’s Nashville bar, Chief’s, last year. The country superstar would obviously like to put the whole thing behind him—but now, bodycam footage from his arrest was released by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.

The video shows both Wallen and his bodyguard denying that he threw the chair from the roof. Meanwhile, as officers were inside the bar reviewing security cam footage, Morgan was standing on the street with several officers when he decided to make a phone call—to Eric Church.

Somebody in Wallen’s group can be heard encouraging him to make the call, as the country star confirmed that he was going to do just that.

“Hey, these motherfuckers are trying to take me—they’re trying to take me to jail outside of your fucking bar,” Morgan can be heard saying. Church’s reply can’t be heard on the recording, but he clearly had some clarifying questions, as Morgan adds: “The cops. I’m not sure… They’re trying to. They won’t let me leave.”

Wallen then has the cops speak to Church, and the officer explains they’re investigating reports that a chair was thrown off the roof of the bar. Church reportedly asked if they could take Wallen somewhere private inside the bar while they investigated, but the officer said that wouldn’t be possible.

“It’s not really something we can do,” said the officer. “We’ve got a supervisor coming to the scene. Gotta treat it like we would with anybody else.”

It’s well known by now that after reviewing the security camera footage, it was determined that Wallen did in fact throw the chair off the roof of the bar. He was subsequently arrested and put into the police car.

During an interview earlier this year, Eric Church recalled getting the call from Wallen: “Morgan called me from the street after it happened. I was watching college basketball, and he said, ‘Hey, this just happened.’ Then I said, ‘Uh-oh.’ I knew it was gonna be noisy, and it was—it was damn noisy.”

But Church also said he thinks the incident was a good learning moment for Morgan, and that the country star has grown from it in the year since it happened.

“I think that was a line for him, and he’s done really well since then—it was a thing he’s reacted positively to as a person,” said Church. “He went down [to Chief’s] and apologized to the staff, shook everybody’s hand. I was proud of him.”

Meanwhile, Morgan Wallen recently revealed that the incident at Chief’s was the last time he’s been in a bar. “I ain’t been in a bar since the last time I was in a bar that everybody knows about. The most public time I was in a bar—that’s the last time I was in a bar.”
