Nation of Language celebrated new album ‘Dance Called Memory’ at 3 Brooklyn shows (pics, setlists)

Nation of Language just released Dance Called Memory, their first album for Sub Pop, and they celebrated with a three-night run at Warsaw in Brooklyn. Each night featured a different setlist chosen by a different member of the band, with no song being played on all three nights. Each show also featured the live debut of new songs, a different cover in the encore, and a different opener and DJ. Night 1 (9/18) was with Horse Jumper of Love, Night 2 (9/19) was with Parquet Courts’ A. Savage, and Night 3 (9/20) was with Greet Death.

Night 1’s cover was A Number of Names’ “Shari Vari” and featured special guest Nancy Whang, Night 2’s was Beat Rhythm Fashion’s “Turn of the Century,” and Night 3’s was Devo’s “Gates of Steel.”

Nation of Language’s fall tour is underway with Greet Death on the first leg and Deeper and Westerman joining later in the trek, and all dates are listed below.
