So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.

ARTHUR BUCK (JOSEPH ARTHUR & PETER BUCK) – “SLEEP WITH ONE EYE OPEN”

Joseph Arthur and R.E.M.’s Peter Buck have announced their second collaborative album as Arthur Buck which will be out October 3. Arthur calls first single “Sleep With One Eye Open” a “classic rock ‘n’ roll tune with a simple theme,” says Joseph Arthur. “To be the protector, or perhaps the paranoid partner? This one introduces some wah-wah lead work by me, which becomes a bit more prevalent as the album continues. Intense background vocals by Corin Tucker from Sleater-Kinney and a welcome horn section give it even more classic rock gravitas.”

LUCY DACUS – “BUS BACK TO RICHMOND” & “MORE THAN FRIENDS”

“I wrote ‘Bus Back To Richmond’ and ‘More Than Friends’ years ago,” Lucy Dacus says, “they were the first two songs meant for Forever Is A Feeling. By the time it was done, it didn’t feel like they fit. You may have seen me play either of them at shows over the years- thank you for not filming them at my request, I guess at this point if you actually did, you can fess up. My arbitrary idea at the beginning of making this record was to write about falling into and out of love without using the word love at all. I broke it a few times (3 songs I think?) but these two fit the rule.”

JEHNNY BETH – “HIGH RESOLUTION SADNESS”

Former Savages frontperson Jehnny Beth will release new solo album You Heartbreaker, You at the end of August and she’s just shared a new single: “High Resolution Sadness” borders on industrial punk and comes with a video by her partner Johnny Hostile.

REAL LIES – “LET THE LIPS FALL WHERE THEY MAY”

UK electronic duo Real Lies call this new single “a tribute to London in high summer and the way that the city opens up ahead of you and makes you dizzy with its endless possibilities. It’s a track about marauding from one sunlit scene to the next, all of them for the vaults, and entire days, nights, weekends lost to the chase. It’s about freedom, hero’s welcomes and French exits — a summer state of being that would be entirely frictionless were it not for the thick balmy air that wears you like a second skin.”

ZACH BRYAN – “BOWERY” (ft. KINGS OF LEON)

Zach Bryan and Kings of Leon recently toured together, and now they’ve got a propulsive new song out together.

DIJON – “BABY_BARNBURNER!!.M4A”

Dijon is teasing a new album with a message on his website, which gives a countdown until Baby arrives, “unless samples don’t get cleared.” That arrives next Friday (August 15), and in the mean time, he’s shared of clip of new music with the file name “BABY_barnburner!!.m4a”

BY A THREAD – “TEMPEST”

’90s-era Vancouver post-hardcore/emo band By A Thread have announced their first album in 14 years, Mirrored Life, due September 12 via Spartan Records. Here’s second single “Tempest,” a song with a lot more glistening delicacy than By A Thread had in the ’90s. The album also features the recently-released, harder-edged song “Void.”

DEFTONES – “MILK OF THE MADONNA”

Deftones have shared the second single from their anticipated new album private music, which arrives in two weeks. Read more about it here.

OSEES – “SNEAKER”

OSEES’ 29th album ABOMINATION REVEALED AT LAST is out today and to celebrate they’ve shared this very cool animated video for “Sneaker”
