Galaxy Corporation has abruptly canceled its Halloween-inspired humanoid robot performance, originally set for October 30 in Saratoga, California. The event was canceled due to unforeseen circumstances, a representative for the company told Digital Music News. Galaxy Corporation held two similar K-pop-inspired events in New York City earlier this year.
“We sincerely apologize for this change and for any inconvenience or disappointment it may cause,” their statement continues. “Although this event will no longer take place, Galaxy Corporation remains committed to advancing its work in Physical AI, humanoid robotics, and entertainment.”
The October 30 event in California would have featured traditional Korean masks and humanoid robot performances. It’s unknown whether the show would have featured any of the iconic moves of K-pop idols like G-Dragon.
The company has not yet gone public but was rumored to have been planning an IPO launch earlier in 2026. However, Galaxy Corporation has shifted its focus to the U.S. market since signing big-name South Korean talent, including actors and TV personalities, in addition to K-pop idols.
Due to the nature of the artists it has attracted, insiders say the company is prioritizing a public launch, but its next moves remain unclear. The situation has become even more complicated with the sudden cancellation of its upcoming California event.
While the reason behind the cancellation is unknown, with a business involving up to 16 dancing robots, any number of technical difficulties could be to blame. The specific needs and amount of space required to hold such an event would also factor into their scheduling, and any events held outside would be subject to weather conditions.
As Galaxy Corporation continues signing deals with prominent South Korean talent, it should be intriguing to see where the company heads next toward its goal of showcasing the various ways that people and increasingly capable robots can interact.
