There’s something magnetic about Alexander James Rodriguez.Maybe it’s his effortless blend of 80s-inspired disco and Gen Z confidence, or the fact that he can switch from English to Spanish mid-song and make it sound pure magic. Either way, the Marbella-born singer, songwriter, and actor is quickly carving his name into thefuture of pop – and he’s doing it entirely on his own terms.
Since winning the ‘Rising Star Award’ at the 2021 Hollywood Music in Media Awards, Alexander’s momentum has been unstoppable. His singles have stacked up millions of views across platforms, each one highlighting his signature falsetto and sharp lyrical edge. His tracks feel like a dance floor and diary combined – deeply personal yet made for turning the volume all the way up.
“I want all my listeners to listen and feel like they are home. I hope they find nostalgia, joy, and belonging in the music I create. I want my songs to heal the world, and I stay true to that in everything I do,” Alexander told me. That authenticity pulses through everything he creates.

When asked about his musical inspirations, Alexander explained, “Most of my music is inspired by artists from a ton of different decades. I am inspired by Electric Light Orchestra, Bee Gees, ABBA, George Michael, Duran Duran, and The Weeknd consistently, and that is reflective in the sounds I create.” Each song carries his witty wordplay and funky bass lines while channeling these disco and pop greats yet still sounding distinctly now.
In early 2024, Alexander released his self-produced debut album Call Me Alexander, on vinyl, CD, and digital. The project feels like a coming-of-age moment – bold, colourful, and fearless. The album’s groove-driven tracks and emotional depth have earned him consideration for both the 2025 and 2026 Grammy Awards, where he became a voting member of the Recording Academy in 2024 – one of the youngest members to be invited that year and a huge milestone for an independent artist still in his teens.
Alexander isn’t stopping there. He recently dropped a fresh cover of Duran Duran’s classic “Notorious,” putting his own spin on the iconic 80s hit while still staying true to the original. It’s a reminder of how he can honor his influences while making them feel entirely modern – a skill few artists master at his age. On top of his thriving music and acting career, Alexander is also a freshman at the University of Miami, balancing academics with his creative pursuits. It’s proof that even while juggling a rising pop career, he’s committed to growth, learning, and the next chapter of his life.

Since age seven, Alexander has lent his voice to Cardamon in Netflix’s cult animation Bee and Puppycat, and he’s appeared in several feature films including the upcoming comedy Run Amok where he stars alongside Academy Award nominee Eric Roberts (The Dark Knight) and Bronson Pinchot (Beverly Hills Cop). Balancing acting, school, and music can’t be easy, but it hasn’t slowed him down! – if anything, it sharpened his creative voice.
Whether he’s behind a camera, mic or a synth, Alexander James Rodriguez is proving that pop can still evolve. He’s not following trends – he’s creating them. And as his sound continues to expand across borders and playlists, one thing is clear: this is only the beginning of something much bigger.
So, if you haven’t already, it’s time to catch up. Stream Call Me Alexander and his new cover of Notorious now on all major platforms and see why the world can’t stop talking about him. Wanna see Alexander James Rodriguez in action? Click to watch his latest music video, One Night Only here:
