Daniel Avery tells us how NIN, The Kills, My Bloody Valentine & more influenced his new album ‘Tremor’

Daniel Avery is known as a techno innovator but has often incorporated rock and shoegaze into his work, and his new album Tremor leans further that direction than ever before. He tells us about five (or six or seven or eight) records that were a major influence on Tremor, including ones from a contributor to the album, a shoegaze classic, a couple ’90s alt-rock essentials, a videogame soundtrack and a Brooklyn ambient masterwork.
