Dua Lipa joined by Ben Gibbard for “I Will Follow You Into the Dark” in Seattle (watch)

Dua Lipa‘s been busting out regionally-specific covers that sometimes include the song’s original artist as a surprise guest on her latest North American tour, and some of those covers/guests have been relatively alternative for a modern-day pop star of Dua Lipa’s stature, like Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong and No Doubt’s Gwen Stefani. (Not that those are incredibly deep cuts or anything, but still.) And for the tour’s final show (10/16) in Seattle, though, Dua brought out her most indie guest yet, Ben Gibbard for a gorgeous rendition of Death Cab For Cutie‘s “I Will Follow You Into the Dark.”

Dua introduced the song by saying that after touching on “so many different artists and genres” with these covers/guests, she thought she’d end the tour by doing something by an “indie legend.” She said, “I love this song for so many reasons but really because I feel like it just really defines what love is in such a pure form, of wanting to wanting to follow someone to the very end.” Watch the performance below.

At Dua’s first of two Seattle shows on Wednesday night (10/15), she brought out Brandi Carlile for “The Story.”
