OpenWav & Scott Storch Create Global Music Competition

OpenWav, a new direct-to-fan music platform, has announced the launch of StorchVerse—a global indie music competition in partnership with acclaimed producer Scott Storch.

This initiative is positioned as a transformative opportunity for unsigned and independent acts to get noticed and collaborate directly with some of the biggest names in music, all through a streamlined and artist-friendly process.

StorchVerse opens the door for artists worldwide to submit original music for a shot at major exposure. The contest winner will receive a $3,000 cash prize and be featured on a new EP from Scott Storch, whose production credits include artists like Beyonce, Dr. Dre, Fat Joe, and Christina Aguilera. Notably, Storch’s four-song EP will drop exclusively on OpenWav. Second and third place winners will also have the chance to be featured, alongside a major artist guesting on the EP’s final track.

Participation is built for ease: creators only need to download the OpenWav app from the App Store or Google Play, set up a profile, and upload their track. To stand out, entries should include a verse of at least 16 bars and a hook, using the exclusive Scott Storch beat—full songs are also welcomed. Both audio and video submissions are accepted, but video is recommended for those looking to catch extra attention.

Fan engagement plays a major role in moving up the ranks through the platform’s WavRoom feature, where supporters can like, comment, and even purchase exclusive content or merchandise. Each action counts as a vote, helping the artist climb into the Top 20. Submissions are open now through September 10, with winners to be announced on September 15. Scott Storch himself will personally review all entries, selecting winners based on creativity, originality, and overall musical craft.
