THE MOUNTAIN GOATS OPENING FOR CANDLEBOX AFTER RELEASING A SONG CALLED “CANDLEBOX”

The Mountain Goats are releasing new album Days that is very ’90s grunge/alt-rock coded, with songs about bands of the era. Here’s a twist from John Darnielle: “Two weeks before we were set to release the song ‘Candlebox,’ a song I wrote in the summer of ‘25 and which only we in camp had heard, my manager texted me that Candlebox was seeking support for their first headline tour in a good long minute. It was written in the stars! This fated confluence will light up the skies of St. Louis and Florence like a Roman, wait for it, candle. We answer the call of fate! Meet you in St. Louis, fellas!”

THUNDERCAT

Thundercat released his first LP since 2020, Distracted, in April, and now he’s announced the “Distracted AF Tour” supporting it with Channel Tres (DJ set), TiaCorine, Fera, 54 Ultra, and Kitty Ca$h as support.

TWIN TEMPLE OPENING FOR DANZIG

Twin Temple, the self-proclaimed “satanic doo-wop” duo who were recently dropped from opening for Charley Crockett for their use of satanic imagery, will be on tour in September who clearly doesn’t have a problem with the Dark Lord: Danzig.

MARKY RAMONE

Marky Ramone has announced a short tour where he will be playing Ramones classics. Stops include NYC’s Irving Plaza on November 20 and Asbury Park’s The Stone Pony on November 21.

SHE’S GREEN

Minneapolis shoegaze/dream pop band she’s green released their third EP, swallowtail, last week, and they’ve announced a fall tour supporting it. It’s their first-ever North American headlining run, and they’ll have Witches Exist, smush, and Starling opening for them.

CRADLE OF FILTH / MOONSPELL / WORM / BLACK SATELLITE

Cradle of Filth have announced a fall North American tour with Moonspell, Worm and Black Satellite, including an NYC show at Warsaw on October 22.

THOMAS DOLLBAUM

Thomas Dollbaum will support his great new album Birds of Paradise on a headlining tour this September. Before that he’s got dates supporting Lucero this month and after he’s got a couple shows with S.G. Goodman.

GREG FREEMAN / WENDY EISENBERG

Greg Freeman, who made one of our favorite albums of 2025, will be previewing new material — and hopefully playing some older stuff — at Brooklyn’s Union Pool on July 21 with Wendy Eisenberg (who has made one of our favorite albums of this year so far).

FRIENDSHIP / CHARLOTTE CORNFIELD

Merge labelmates Friendship and Charlotte Cornfield are teaming up for a co-headlining tour of North America. The shows run through December, beginning on December 3 in Toronto and wrapping up on December 19 in Ann Arbor. Support comes via more eaze and Fred Thomas.

OUTLINE WITH FLYING LOTUS, OLOF DREIJER, MORE

FlyLo will be bringing his “Layer 3” audiovisual extravaganza to Knockdown Center for the latest in the venue’s Outline series, and it’s with The Knife’s Olof Dreijer and more.
