7 New Songs Out Today

So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.

DAPHNI – “JOSEPHINE”

Caribou’s Dan Snaith is back with a new track from his Daphni alter ego. “This has been a big one for me in the past while,” Dan says of “Josephine,” “I think I’ve played it in every set hope you like it!”

ACTIVITY – “HALLOWEEN (DOES IT MAKE YOU FEEL SAD)”

It’s October and bands are getting into the spirit of the season, like Brooklyn’s Activity. “This is our version of a holiday song. We will NOT be out-October’d by anyone.”

MIYA FOLICK – “MID JULY”

Miya Folick announced a deluxe edition of her 2025 album Erotica Veronica, due out January 2 via Nettwerk. It’ll include five new tracks, and she’s shared one of them, “Mid July.” “‘Mid July’ is a collage of moments and feelings, meant as explanation,” she says. “As if someone asked you a question and you responded with a series of photographs. I wanted it to have the same exuberant nostalgia of a Broken Social Scene song.”

RADIOACTIVITY – “WHY”

Here’s another breakneck ripper from Radioactivity’s first album in 10 years, Time Won’t Bring Me Down.

GREEN DAY – “CASTAWAY (DEMO)”

Green Day are releasing a deluxe 25th anniversary edition of their sixth album featuring lots of previously unheard tracks, and here’s one of them, a demo of “Castaway.”

FRED AGAIN.. FT AMYL AND THE SNIFFERS – “YOU’RE A STAR”

It’s the first track from Fred Again..’s new USB002 project which uses Amyl and the Sniffers’ “Big Dreams” as it’s hook.

MEGADETH – “TIPPING POINT”
