FIERY FURNACES (INCLUDING SHOWS WITH KIM GORDON)

Fiery Furnaces have announced their most extensive tour in a long time, with shows in Boston, Portland (ME), Montreal, DC, and Philly before hooking up with Kim Gordon for shows in Chicago and Minneapolis.

RADIOHEAD’S KID A MNESIA INSTALLATION

After debuting at Coachella this month, Radiohead’s KID A MNESIA film/art installation will hit North American cities later this year.

POND

Pond will be on tour this summer in support of their just-announced new album Terreestrials, including shows with Djo (like NYCs Forest Hills Stadium on 7/17) as well as recently announced headline shows.

SUPER FURRY ANIMALS MWNG SHOW

Super Furry Animals are back in action — not in North America yet — and they’ve announced a special show where they’ll play their terrific 1999 Welsh language album MWNG in full for the first time ever. In Wales, of course.

KING GIZZARD’S FIELD OF VISION FEST

King Gizzard’s Field of Vision Fest happens in Colorado in August and it’s just gotten a lot more microtonal thanks to the addition of Angine de Poitrine. Check out all the lineup additions here.

BJORK’S RAVE IN ICELAND

How are you spending your solar eclipse on August 12? Bjork is DJing a rave, Echolalia, in Iceland where the sun won’t set till 10 PM. She’ll spin as will Arca, and there will be live performances from Ronja, sideproject and more TBA.

JEJUNE

Late-’90s emo band Jejune are the latest group to have their catalogue get the Numero Group reissue treatment, and they’ve announced their first US shows in 25+ years to celebrate.

WEATHERDAY

Swedish emo/noise pop artist Weatherday returned with their first album in six years, Hornet Disaster, last year, and they’ve announced a fall North American tour supporting it, running through October and November.

DOUG GILLARD (GUIDED BY VOICES)

Doug Gillard, trusty guitarist in Guided by Voices, Nada Surf and more, will be play a couple shows in support of his new solo album, Parallel Stride: May 22 at Tubby’s Kingston with Cathedral Ceilings and Sky Furrows, and May 23 at Mama Tried in Brooklyn with Cathedral Ceilings and Guyscrapers (free show).

THE LIMIÑANAS

French band The Limiñanas have announced their first North American tour in a very long time — possibly 2011? — which will happen this fall with Native Sun opening in the US and Canada.

EXEK

Aussies EXEK will support great new album Prove the Mountains Move with a few tour dates, including a four shows opening for LCD Soundsystem in Boston and four NYC-area shows; Tubby’s Kingston on May 5 with Bill Nace, Queens’ TV Eye on May 6, Manhattan’s Home Sweet Home on May 7, and Asbury Park’s Baronet Rooftop on May 8.

LAMBRINI GIRLS

When the weekend one Coachella set times dropped, we noticed that Lambrini Girls weren’t on them… and now we know why. They’ve pulled out of the festival, and rescheduled their North American tour, after vocalist and guitarist Phoebe Lunny fractured their neck, resulting in an “acute brain injury.”

LOUDON WAINWRIGHT III’S 80TH BIRTHDAY JUBILEE

Loudon Wainwright III will celebrate his 80th birthday with a big NYC show on September 12 at Town Hall with friends and family Rufus Wainwright, Martha Wainwright, Lucy Wainwright Roche, Judd Apatow as emcee, Christopher Guest, Michael McKean, Joe Henry, John Scofield, Van Dyke Parks, and surprise guests.

SUPERHEAVEN

Superheaven will be on tour in May and June with Modern Color and All Under Heaven. Stops include Montreal, Buffalo, Boise, Seattle, Vancouver and more.
