Spain’s Asociación de Promotores Musicales (APM) disclosed these and other figures in its newly released 2026 annual report. Clocking in at a decidedly healthy 229 pages, the detail-oriented resource covers a variety of live entertainment angles.
Just in passing, that includes the impact of evidently stringent noise-pollution regulations – in 2024, singer Manuel Carrasco was slapped with approximately $461,234/€400,000 in volume-related fines – and the beverage-sales consequences of the European nation’s requirements for drinking-fountain access.
(The Madrid revenue stat is telling with regard to 2026 performance plans, referring in part to Shakira’s forthcoming residency at the custom-built “Shakira Stadium.”)
And “dynamic new hubs” such as Biscay ($29.8 million/€25.8 million, up 36% YoY) likewise turned in double-digit hikes.
On the other hand, shifting from the province and back to cities, València ($31 million/€26.9 million total, up 6% YoY) achieved comparatively modest live revenue growth – with Seville ($31.7 million/€27.5 million) having suffered a 22% YoY revenue slip, according to the report.
Reasonably objective in tone, the resource also explores the possibility that those breakneck growth rates could be indicative of a live sector bubble; in 2025, country-wide live revenue was up 111% from 2019. Of course, this relates directly to Spain’s tourism boom – to the tune of a record 97 million international visitors during 2025, per the Spanish government.
However, about 32% of Spain’s own population attended a “contemporary music” concert last year – with an almost 10% attendance rate for classical concerts – APM’s analysis shows.
Ed Sheeran led the pack with 137,884 attendees in Spain, according to the breakdown, followed by Imagine Dragons (112,419), AC/DC (103,946), Chayanne (97,446), and Bruce Springsteen (77,865).
Finally, despite the festival sector’s well-documented operational woes, Arenal Sound attracted 300,000 or so attendees in 2025, closely trailed by Primavera Sound Barcelona (297,000) and then Viña Rock (240,000), Sonorama Ribera (200,000), and Sónar (161,000).
In the bigger industry revenue picture, Spain’s strong 2025 live showing coincided with a solid recovery for recorded music, including double-digit paid streaming growth.
