Carter C. Carter let the transcendence of downtempo house find its way into the contours of contemporary RnB through his debut shot-in-the-heart single, I Miss the Hurt; a melancholic meditation on how, sometimes, it isn’t always the recollection of the sweetest memories that sting the most, sometimes, it’s the ability to feel anything visceral at all.
