Bella Figura’s stateside dealmaking push isn’t letting up: Now, the London-based company has acquired the publishing catalog of The Drums’ Jonny Pierce.

Weeks removed from its purchase of a “significant portion” of Jeepster Recordings, Bella Figura Music (BFM) reached out with word of the newer investment today. As described by the company, the transaction “covers Pierce’s publishing interests” for each Drums release through 2014’s Encyclopedia.

All told, then, the buyer’s secured a stake in 2009’s seven-song Summertime! EP, a 13-track eponymous debut album from the following year, 2011’s Portamento (14 tracks), and finally 2014’s Encyclopedia itself (12).

(What’s not included? 2017’s Abysmal Thoughts, 2019’s Brutalism, and 2023’s Jonny, besides a handful of post-2014 singles attributed to Pierce and/or The Drums.)

These albums house Pierce-penned tracks such as “Money,” “Days,” “Let’s Go Surfing,” and “Down by the Water,” to name a few.

Pierce didn’t provide a statement for Bella Figura’s formal release, and the business opted against divulging price-tag particulars. But founder and CEO Alexi Cory-Smith praised the selling professional’s body of work and emphasized BFM’s “partnership-first approach.”

“Jonny Pierce has created some of the most enduring and influential songs in modern indie pop,” Cory-Smith said. “His ability to craft melodies that feel both immediate and timeless, combined with his distinctive lyrical voice, has made The Drums’ catalogue a cornerstone of the genre.

“At Bella Figura, we’re committed to a partnership-first approach, working collaboratively with all existing partners to ensure these songs continue to thrive for years to come. We’re honored to be stewards of this remarkable body of work,” the exec concluded.

Since its 2022 founding, BFM has also scored deals with Jeff Silverman, Adrian Wright, and R3HAB, among many others, on top of spearheading plays for RAK Publishing, David Gray’s IHT, and more.

And in the bigger catalog picture, 2026 has already delivered convincing evidence that the IP acquisition train is chugging steadily along. Just in passing, this refers to sales involving the likes of Miranda Lambert, Britney Spears, Gilberto Gil, and Willow Smith.
