On Sunday, Rihanna’s Beverly Hills mansion was the target of a shooting, and a 35-year-old Florida woman has been arrested and charged with attempted murder. Rihanna and A$AP Rocky were inside the home with their three children, a law enforcement source has confirmed.
Ivanna Lisette Ortiz was also charged with 10 counts of assault with a semi-automatic firearm and three counts of shooting at an inhabited dwelling, according to Los Angeles District Attorney Nathan Hochman. Hochman said that if convicted, Ortiz faces up to life in state prison.
The shooting was reported at 1:15 PM PT on Sunday, when Ortiz allegedly fired at least 10 shots at the house from her white Tesla across the street from the property’s gate. One round penetrated the wall, while bullet holes were found in the gate and in an RV that was parked outside.
There were no injuries, and Ortiz was taken into custody shortly after the incident. Her bail at the time of her arrest was said to be over $10 million, according to Fox 11 Los Angeles.
On February 23, Ortiz shared a photo of herself on Facebook while directly tagging Rihanna’s account. “@badgirlriri—Are you there?” she wrote. “‘Cause I was waiting for your AIDS 5-head self to say something to me directly instead of sneaking around like you’re talking to me where I’m not at.”
In another post a few days prior, Ortiz shared a picture of rapper Drake with the caption, “When Drake found out Rihanna has AIDS.” There is no evidence to support the claims made in Ortiz’s posts.
Several other posts mentioned Rihanna aggressively, while others appear to address rapper Cardi B or reality star Kim Kardashian directly. In a recent video, Ortiz appeared to address Cardi B while filming herself speaking into a mirror: “You can’t fuck with me, Cardi B,” she said. “You are supposedly busy right now. You ain’t messing with me.”
Ortiz also had an Instagram account, which is no longer available, and ran a YouTube channel where she posted a series of videos titled “Praying Women’s Journal,” which documented a 60-day prayer challenge.
There has been no evidence to suggest that the petition was connected to Rihanna, though Live Nation has partnered with Rihanna for her tours in the past. Further, authorities have not indicated whether Ortiz’s social media activity is connected to the alleged attack—but the posts seem to indicate a concerning pattern of behavior and fixation on celebrities.
