The Recording Academy unveils the nominees for the 2026 Grammys. Kendrick Lamar leads the pack, followed by Lady Gaga, Jack Antonoff, and Bad Bunny.
The 2026 Grammy Award nominations have been revealed, led by Kendrick Lamar with nine nominations across several categories. Trailing with seven apiece are Lady Gaga, Jack Antonoff, and Mayhem producer Cirkut, followed by Bad Bunny and Sabrina Carpenter among those with six. SZA, Turnstile, and Tyler the Creator each have five nominations.
After sweeping his categories at the 2025 Grammy Awards, Kendrick Lamar will be up for the Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Rap Performance categories, led by his hit “Luther.” He will be competing for Album of the Year, a category in which he has been nominated seven times.
Joining him in the race for Album of the Year are Bad Bunny, Clipse, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Leon Thomas, Sabrina Carpenter, and Tyler the Creator. Notably, none of the nominees has ever won the category, but most have been nominated in the past. Jack Antonoff’s seven nominations all stem from his work with either Kendrick Lamar or Sabrina Carpenter.
The 2026 Grammy Awards will feature a new category, Best Album Cover, and the first time that Best Country Album will be split into two categories: Best Contemporary Country Album and Best Traditional Country Album. Among those up for Best Album Cover include Bad Bunny and Wet Leg.
Many acts this year are looking to win a Grammy for the first time in decades. Among those are The Cure, who are up for Best Alternative Music Album for their 2024 release, Songs of a Lost World. The single “Alone” is up for Best Alternative Music Performance—and it’s the first time since 2001 that the band has been nominated.
Interestingly, Nelson Riddle, beloved bandleader and composer who died in 1985, is posthumously nominated for Best Arrangement, Instruments, and Vocals. That’s for “How Did She Look?”, a song that Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane recorded for his album Lush Life: The Lost Sinatra Arrangements. The nom is Riddle’s first since he posthumously won a Grammy in 1986.
The 2026 Grammy Awards take place on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. The show will broadcast live on CBS and stream on Paramount+.
