With a sound that’s as authentically arresting as their retro 70s aesthetic, A Day on Venus is a collective of savants of neo-soul whose superlative ability to groove away contemporary clouds knows no bounds. Their horn-driven latest release, Never Give Up, is a fiery feel-good reminder that, despite what some may say about modern romance, diehard romantics aren’t a dying breed; they’re still out there, taking cues from the past on how to keep affections smouldering.
Never Give Up is a riotous tour de force that makes no bones about borrowing motifs from across the aural spectrum to deliver a kaleidoscope of vintage-styled euphoria, because if we’re being honest, isn’t that where it feels the purest? In Never Give Up, it’s derived from a smorgasbord of funk, pop, RnB, jazz and neo-soul, delivered through some of the most voraciously magnetic vocals on the airwaves right now. One hit of Never Give Up and you’ll be craving the heat of a crowded velvet-filled room under the glistens of a disco ball.
Born from London’s neo-soul and club groove roots, A Day on Venus formed around the sultry vocal and storytelling prowess of Tiffany Parker, whose lived experiences form the emotional backbone of the project. Following their 2024 debut EP Day Into Night, and now working with Ali Jamieson at Echo Ray Studios on the forthcoming 2025 EP Call Me, Sister, the collective has created their own scene which uplifts and ignites.
Never Give Up is now available on all major streaming platforms. Find your preferred platform via the band’s official website.
