Netflix is planning a KPop Demon Hunters global concert tour, according to a source familiar with the discussions on Wednesday. The rumor comes hot on the heels of the film’s Oscar win and the recent announcement of a sequel.
Since its 2025 debut, KPop Demon Hunters has become Netflix’s most-watched film of all time. On Sunday night, it won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature—just the most recent of its many accolades. The movie and its soundtrack have broken several other records for animated films and for K-pop; its lead song, “Golden,” took the Academy Award for Best Original Song.
According to a source close to the matter, the discussions involve a tour visiting dozens of major cities with shows in arenas with capacities of 10,000 to 20,000. Ultimately, the goal is to launch the tour next year ahead of the sequel to the original film.
So far, a promoter hasn’t been selected, but Netflix is prepared to offer “tens of millions of dollars” in upfront guarantees, says Bloomberg. A Netflix spokesperson declined to comment, according to Reuters.
KPop Demon Hunters was animated by Sony Pictures Animation and follows K-pop girl group HUNTR/X—Rumi, Mira, and Zoey—as they balance their stardom with their secret lives as demon hunters. It features vocalists Ejae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami, who performed the film’s breakout hit “Golden” live at the Oscars.
There, co-director and writer Maggie Kang and producer Michelle Wong became the first South Korean individuals to win an Oscar in the animated feature category. They accepted the award alongside co-director Chris Appelhans.
Besides the Oscars, the film also took home two Golden Globes, two wins at the Critics’ Choice Awards, and gave the K-pop genre its first-ever win at the Grammy Awards this season.
