The investigation into the body of a missing teenage girl that was found in the front trunk of a Tesla registered to singer D4vd remains ongoing. Now, a private investigator reports finding a “burn cage” incinerator at the Hollywood Hills mansion that the singer was renting at the time the body was found.
The incinerator was still boxed and unused, and is advertised as being able to burn at up to 1,600 degrees—more than hot enough to burn up human remains. While the incinerator was obviously not used to dispose of the body that was discovered inside the car, private investigator Steve Fischer, who was hired by the property owner to go through the home, says its purchase displays a sign of intent.
“Given that Celeste Rivas Hernandez’s remains were ultimately found in the Tesla trunk, the presence of an incinerator at the same residence associated with that vehicle necessarily raises questions about intent,” wrote Fischer. “The burn cage was not taken during the search warrant, and because it was not used, it appears it’s not of importance to any possible criminal investigation. But we think it’s important context, even if not criminal.”
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, Fischer described the DR Burn Cage incinerator as something you “would expect to find on a farm rather than in a home in the Hollywood Hills.” Fischer posted a photo of the unopened box, as well as a photo of the product in use (pictured) from advertising materials used by the company.
“Some will argue that this item was intended as a prop for a video,” wrote Fischer. “If that were the case, it raises several obvious questions. Why would a 55-pound burn cage be delivered to a private residence instead of directly to a prop designer or production house?”
The 20-year-old D4vd, whose real name is David Burke, was in the middle of his Withered World Tour when the body of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez was discovered in the trunk of a Tesla registered to the singer on September 8. Since then, D4vd has cancelled the remaining dates of the tour. He is said to have been uncooperative with investigators since being named a suspect; initially, authorities said he was cooperating.
Fischer mentioned that other items were found in the home that could be used with the burn cage, but he didn’t specify what. Authorities raided the property on September 17 and seized “several items of evidence,” according to the LAPD. After someone was sent to retrieve items belonging to Burke, the property owner then hired a trash crew to haul away the remaining items, which included clothes and boxes.
The extent of Burke’s relationship with Rivas Hernandez has not been confirmed to the public, but rumors online indicate they spent a significant amount of time together. The two also appeared in photos together.
Meanwhile, the official cause of death has not been revealed by the Medical Examiner’s office, and no arrests have been made.
