So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.

GORILLAZ – “DAMASCUS” (FEAT. OMAR SOULEYMAN & YASIIN BEY)

Here’s the latest preview from Gorillaz’s upcoming album The Mountain, and this one travels to the Middle East with help from Omar Souleyman and Yasin Bey.

A.G. COOK – “DREAD”

A.G. Cook’s first release from his score to A24’s The Moment, a mockumentary with Charli XCX playing a fictionalized version of herself, is here. The score, like the film, is out on January 30 via A24.

NO/MÁS – “MANIC”

Washington DC grinders No/Más announced a new album, No Peace, due out on March 13 via Redefining Darkness, and shared a new single, the relentless “Manic.”

JULIA KENT – “EPHEMERA” (LD BEGHTOL COVER)

All These Things I Thought I Knew is a new album paying tribute to Magnetic Fields collaborator LD Beghtol who died in 2020. It’s out this spring via Mother West and features covers of his songs by Linda Smith,Stephin Merritt (The Magnetic Fields), Jon DeRosa (Aarktica) and Charles Newman, Kendall Jane Meade, Dudley Klute, Moth Wranglers, Stephen Coates (The Real Tuesday Weld), and Julia Kent who does this lovely version of “Ephemera.”

EKKO ASTRAL – “I90” FT. JOSALEIGH POLLETT (LIVE IN SALT LAKE CITY)

Ekko Astral shared their first performance of “i90,” the final track of 2024’s Pink Balloons, with Josaleigh Pollett, who also features on the album version. “When we first wrote this tune, it was for a world where trans folks one day were losing healthcare & rights across the country,” they say. “We did not think that world would come so soon. This is the definitive performance.”

TWEN – “B.Y.O.B. (IT’S CHRISTMAS TIME)” & “YULETIDE MOON”

Nashville duo shared a pair of new seasonal songs, “B.Y.O.B. (It’s Christmas Time)” and “Yuletide Moon.”

YUMI ZOUMA – “95”

New Zealand’s Yumi Zouma’s new album No Love Lost to Kindness is out January 30 and here’s the new single that details a road trip down 95.

THE FORMAT – “BOYCOTT HEAVEN”

The Format’s first album since 2006 is out next month, and they’ve given us another preview with “Boycott Heaven,” the title track.

TOYS THAT KILL – “BACKWASH ME THE ANTIDOTE”

Toys That Kill announced their first full-length album in a decade, and we premiered the new single “Backwash Me The Antidote,” which you can read more about here.
